ANALYSIS OF THE ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE “FOREIGN LANGUAGE (PROFESSIONAL)” FROM A POINT OF VIEW OF THE SYSTEMATIC APPROACH
Abstracts

Introduction. The article justifies the relevance of the analysis of the content of the academic discipline “Foreign Language (profes-sional)”, taking into account the principles of systematic thinking.

 

The purpose of the article is to substantiate and uncover the idea of effective goalsetting in the redesign of the discipline “Foreign Language (Professional)”, taking into account the systematic approach.

Materials and methods. The article analyzes the discipline “Foreign Language (Professional)” for training course 38.03.01 Economics, the specialization “Finance and Credit” from the point of view of system thinking. The author takes into account a diverse number of factors: the European standard of requirements for foreign language proficiency; the relationship of the discipline with its surrounding courses; the need to establish not only educational, but also pedagogical and comprehensive goals.

Results. Teaching a foreign language in educational institutions of professional education involves the formation of professional competence, the implementation of which in relation to the discipline “Foreign language (professional)” means the presence of two components of learning objectives — communicative competence in a foreign language and the professional component of a foreign language. The article shows the correlation of the topics of the analyzed discipline with the types of professional activities according to the standard, takes into account the expected “ins and outs” of the discipline for effective goalsetting.

Discussion. It is emphasized that the effectiveness of the discipline redesigning is the effective implementation of learning objectives.

Conclusion. It is necessary to redesign the discipline for a specific type of educational organization, whose activity is carried out taking into account the conditions of training and is designed for a certain contingent of students. A systematic approach allows you to implement the main components of the objectives of learning a foreign language — communicative competence in a foreign language and the professional component of a foreign language.
